Horty Hints
Feeling thirsty? Ficus Moclame prefers to be slightly moist at all times, so hydrogranules help keep consistency. Underwatering can lead to browning crispy leaves.
Insufficient light can trigger leaf drop. Find a spot with plenty of indirect sunlight and your plant should quickly recover.
Give your Ficus a trim to maintain the desired shape, but be aware that sticky latex will ooze from the ends of the cut stems! This can be an irritant, so make sure to wash your hands if any comes into contact with your skin.
Light
Ficus microcarpa Moclame prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some partial shade. Harsh, direct sunlight should be avoided as it may scorch the leaves.
Watering
Keep an eye on the water meter. Water when the meter has been on minimum for 7 to 10 days. For more information, see our HydroCare set up guide. Thirst can trigger leaf drop.
Temperature
Ficus Moclame will do fine in normal household temperatures but prefers slightly warmer environments: between 16-24°C. Avoid cold draughts.
Humidity
This Ficus has no specific humidity requirements, although for an added boost consider giving your plant an occasional misting from time-to-time.
Feed
Add a Hydroculture liquid feed every 2 to 3 waterings during the spring and summer months.
Height & Growth Rate
In their native environment, Ficus microcarpa Moclame grow into very tall trees. Typical indoor height is 1-2m. Trim to maintain desired height and shape. Moderately fast-growing.
