Horty Hints
Time for a spring clean! Use a damp cloth to remove any dust settling on your Aglaonema’s leaves to keep it in tip top condition.
Don’t say hello to the yellow! Yellow leaves can often be a sign of overwatering so ensure your Aglaonema Stripes has adequate drainage to avoid sitting in excess water.
Time for a trim! Prune any dead leaves or leaves with brown tips to ensure the plant is fully utilising nutrients and to encourage new growth.
Light
Aglaonema thrive in most light levels. The lighter the leaf colour, the more light required. Plain, dark green varieties prefer near-shade, whereas the lighter, variegated types need well-lit conditions. Avoid direct sunlight.
Watering
Water when the meter has been on minimum for 7 to 10 days. Make sure not to overwater as this may encourage root rot. Moderation is the key.
Temperature
Does well in normal room temperatures: 18-24°C, however avoid draughts as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations.
Humidity
Chinese Evergreens can tolerate lower humidity than some other plants, yet it will still appreciate your efforts to improve surrounding humidity levels by misting regularly.
Feed
Add a Hydroculture liquid feed every other watering during the spring and summer months.
Height & Growth Rate
Aglaonema Stripes is a well-behaved slow grower which usually reaches an ultimate height of around 1 metre.
Please note: each plant is unique so available heights are approximate and the plant you receive may vary by ±10%.
Toxicity
These plants can cause irritation if eaten and the sap is a skin and eye irritant. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Air Purifying
Cleans and improves air quality by filtering toxins from the surrounding environment such as Benzene and Formaldehyde.
Origin
Aglaonema Stripes is a native of the tropics and subtropics of Asia and New Guinea.
