Aglaonema Silver Bay Care & Info Guide
Horty Hints
Don’t say hello to the yellow! Yellow leaves can often be a sign of overwatering so ensure your Aglaonema Silver Bay has adequate drainage to avoid sitting in excess water.
Time for a trim! Prune any dead leaves or leaves with brown tips to ensure the plant is fully utilising nutrients and to encourage new growth.
Light
Aglaonema thrive in most light levels. The lighter the leaf colour, the more light required. Plain, dark green varieties prefer near-shade, whereas the lighter, variegated types need well-lit conditions. Avoid direct sunlight.
Watering
Allow an extended “dry period” for Chinese Evergreens. Water when the meter has been on minimum for 7 to 10 days, allowing the roots to dry out completely. For more info, visit our HydroCare set up guide.
Temperature
Does well in normal room temperatures: 18-24°C, however avoid draughts as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations.
Humidity
Chinese Evergreens can tolerate lower humidity than some other plants, yet it will still appreciate your efforts to improve surrounding humidity levels by misting regularly.
Feed
Add a Hydroculture liquid feed every other watering during the spring and summer months.
Height & Growth Rate
Aglaonema Silver Bay is a very slow growing plant which usually rises to an ultimate height of around 80cm to 90cm.
Please note: each plant is unique so available heights are approximate and the plant you receive may vary by ±10%.
Toxicity
These plants can cause irritation if eaten and the sap is a skin and eye irritant. Keep out of reach of children and animals and take care when pruning.
Air Purifying
Cleans and improves air quality by filtering toxins from the surrounding environment such as Benzene and Formaldehyde.
Origin
Aglaonema Silver Bay is a native of the tropics and subtropics of Asia and New Guinea.
